Last Sunday I impulsively drove from Indiana to Northern Kentucky University to visit my friend, Alex … We both adore John Green’s novel, Looking For Alaska and for anyone who’s read it there is a beautiful scene that involves two friends drinking Strawberry Hill and discussing Kurt Vonnegut (a fellow Hoosier writer, for the record). Alex and I wanted to live that scene… I saved our empty bottles as a souvenir of our adventure. One is now a vase.

And of course, it will only ever hold white flowers for Alaska Young.

HOLY SHITBALLS, BATMAN!
Alex, our adventure has 300+ notes and comments!

3 glasses of wine + Photoshop + TFiOS madness brewing = THIS.

Some days I think I’m brilliant, other days I think Adobe should revoke my artistic license for just defacing a masterpiece of the Renaissance in less than 45 minutes.

John, you have created a monster… but I love you still.

EYNF accepted my submission and look at the notes!
HOLY SHIT - I’M EXCITED!!! :D

Spotted one of the “46 For XLVI Murals” this afternoon on Mass Ave. It’s titled My Affair With Kurt Vonnegut by Pamela Bliss. The project is to help spruce up Indy before the SuperBowl gets here in February. 44 of the 46 murals have been completed. This is one of my favorites so far because I’m a Vonnegut fan. I plan on going around to see all of them soon.

“All my jokes are Indianapolis. All my attitudes are Indianapolis…If I ever severed myself from Indianapolis, I would be out of business. What people like about me is Indianapolis.” -Kurt Vonnegut, 1986

Born and raised in Indianapolis,Vonnegut was an artist, peace and environmental activist and a prolific writer. Vonnegut often included Indianapolis in his writing and is recognized as one of the most celebrated Hoosiers of all time.
